We are about to have a New Moon in Cancer, blended with the abundance of Jupiter!
It sounds great, doesn’t it?
And to some extent, it is. Like all New Moons, we experience a sense of fresh beginnings. At 4 degrees of Cancer, perfecting at 3:31 am Pacific while many of us will be dreaming, this can inspire themes of love, nurturing, inner security, and healing.
Let’s affirm those possibilities, and add Jupiter’s expansive generosity to the mix.
But when we look more closely at the wider cosmic picture, we find some complexity. Saturn and Neptune in Aries form a tense square to this New Moon. Pluto in Aquarius sits in a quincunx to the Cancer Moon and forms a dynamic sextile to the Aries planets. Meanwhile, Mars, fiery ruler of Aries, also offers a vibrant sextile to the New Moon.
Around and around we go. There’s quite a lot of firepower woven into this “sweet” New Moon. We can see it reflected in current world events. The sign of Cancer connects to “homeland,” and this Jupiter-infused New Moon can amplify tendencies toward patriotism and protectionism. Neptune can suggest secrets and confusion; Saturn reflects government and military structures; Aries is the sign of war. The shadow expression of this square carries challenging potentials.
Yet we can also visualize compassion and higher philosophies prevailing as we collectively shape a new world. Even when we feel disempowered by world leaders still operating from old paradigms, the choice to hold a new vision is ours.
In our personal lives, where we have more agency, this New Moon asks us to return to the heart and consider our next steps, infusing deeper soul-centered meaning into our plans.
Pluto invites us to ask: What is my role in progress? Am I living authentically? What unconscious fears lead me to ignore my true needs or rationalize situations that aren’t aligned with my higher destiny?
Saturn and Neptune are just beginning a long cycle—one in which imagination and spiritual ideals can be shaped into grounded, lasting plans. It’s a karmic call and an opportunity for brave new beginnings. This New Moon can help us forge a pathway to blend heart and soul, anchoring us on a higher karmic path.
Mars, typically fiery and impulsive, is now called to slow down, act with precision, and skillfully resolve any challenges before us, so that forward movement leads to true success.
It’s all good (ultimately?), but yes, it is a puzzle.
So whatever new venture you are considering—whether a website, business launch, relationship renewal, or even a more compassionate relationship with yourself—take time to reflect on your deeper needs. Then infuse every breath with as much love as you can imagine. Be the heart-centered New Moon expanded with Jupiter’s full potential.
We’ll need every single one of us operating at our highest potential.
